Tumble from the wagon

October 29, 2009

Warning, this is not in the least WoW related but is a personal confession….

Today I fell from the wagon, the non smoking wagon.

I gave up on the 9th of January and of late various stress related issues and health related issues have gotten to me in a big way. It seems that stopping smoking has brought my asthma back with a vengence as well as leading to weight gain ( I was hardly slim to start with) amongst other issues. Yesterday I was told that I have to get blood tests while sleeping to ascertain whether or not I have sleep apnoea and that was the straw that broke the camels back so this morning on my way to work I stopped off and bought cigarettes.
I am not proud that my willpower has given way, I feel like a failure for not being able to resist the urge to smoke. I will try to limit my smoking with a view to trying again to go without but right now I needed a crutch and my oldest vice has resurfaced.

I realise very few people will read this but I feel that putting my fall from grace into words on my blog may serve as a form of release for me from all the feelings of disappointment I feel.

I can’t bring myself to admit this but….

I am actually enjoying PvP on my hunter :-0

I have a couple of PvP pieces now and have run into Wintergrasp a couple of times now to get some honor and kill alliance (which is still a totally weird situation for me since the faction transfer)

I kinda like it, I die a lot when focus fired down but in a 1 on 1 but I tend to do fairly well with my spider pet ickysticky.

I don’t pretend to be a PvP expert or even very good at it but I am enjoying it and that is the important thing……

Introducing………

October 13, 2009

Fenris!

The name I chose from the entries over at the Hunting Lodge was Fenris, based in Norse mythology how could I resist it!Spirit Beast After

In other news, I have decided that I am neglecting Bytor with my altaholism so I have decided to TRY and work on a PvP set and do some BG’s / Wintergrasp with him. I already have 2 pieces of PvP gear from VoA (the ilevel 213 level I think) so I will try and add to them.

It is a shame for Bytor as all he does is the odd daily here and there and once in a blue moon a heroic.  Perhaps learning to PvP properly on him will bring back some enthusiasm for logging onto him, plus now I get to learn all the BG’s I grinded from a Horde perspective…..

I mentioned on Twitter that I plan a series of posts entitled ” Project – Warlock” as I level my newest alt in the world.

This idea has gone on temporary hold as my PC returned from repair today and I am currently going through installing WoW again, getting my display drivers to work properly and all the wonderfull things you get to do with a PC that is basically blanked.
SO

Coming soon on the blog………

Picture of Bytor with his newly named Spirit Beast

Introductions to my other level 80 toons (Jambo the mage, Cujimmy the paladin and DKone the DK!)

Project Warlock, levelling a human warlock using affliction spec and the heirloom shoulders my mage used to level as well as his shiny new heirloom robe for (hopefully) quick levelling!

You have been warned, postapolooza coming up once I am finishe with my IT messing around :)

Appearing soon…..

September 27, 2009

My so far nameless spirit beast will soon have a name.

Brigwyn and I are in the process of finalising things so hopefully there will soon be screenshots showing the new name.

Coming soon……

Name my Spirit Beast

September 15, 2009

Anyone who has listened to The Hunting Lodge podcast will know that my good dorf amigo Brigwyn is running a competition to name my spirit beast.

Here are a couple of screenshots of said frostworg and myself (the new orcish me)ScreenShot_091509_163747ScreenShot_091509_163732

I look forward to choosing the winning name and finally naming my 3rd spirit beast :)

Something interesting may be about to happen

September 8, 2009

I have been chatting with my good dorf amigo Brigwyn and there are plots being plotted, plans being planned and arrangements being made.

Listen to The Hunting Lodge podcast this coming Sunday to find out what…….

Working as intended (cringe)

September 6, 2009

The words anyone who has ever submitted a ticket to blizzard dreads…..

It seems that after the faction change went live they have added a note to the FAQ saying that all argent tournament rep / achievements will be reset so I have to go through and do hundreds of dailies all over.

At the end of the day the fact that I am now in a great guild full of cool peeps more than makes up for having to go back and do dailies over again.

I am still surprised about the ebon hold reset, I am exalted with the but had to go back through and clear the shadow vault to make it available and do the starting quests there to enable the dailies.
All things considered, I am a happy panda :)

It is done, and all is good (almost)

September 4, 2009

I am an orc and my name is bytor :)

I also sorted out the problem with my server transfer (credit card company thought something weird was going on so I had to call them) and I am now a loyal and proud member of <BOUND> on Staghelm

The peeps in Bound are awesome, I have been chatting to a few of them for some time now as I was playing a lowbie druid but now I am there on my hunter new possibilities arise. As my previous post states I don’t expect to raid with them but just having a good group of peeps to do heroics etc with will be good.

The one minor fly in the ointment is reputations, my argent tournament earned titles have disappeared as has my rep with the sunreavers and all the quests are open to me again. Some might think “awesome loads of gold making” but I think “crap I have to do hundreds more dailies to get back to where I was!”

Needless to say I have submitted a ticket, I also discovered that I could do the shadowvault quests to take it back from the scourge even though I am exalted with them also.

Teething troubles which are to be expected with something as HUGE as faction transfers and I am happy to do without a few titles etc while they sort things out. The main thing is that Bytor is an orc, in a great guild with some very cool people.

Happy Panda :)

Well I did it…

September 3, 2009

I have faction transferred bytor……….

It’s been about 6 hours now and he is still in limbo, but once he becomes horde he will then be server transferred and I will be in a great guild with whom I hope to do lots of heroics, VoA etc although I know fine well they raid while I sleep but that is cool with me.

Guild full of cool peeps = epic win!
